Last week I hung out with actor Damien Molony in his dressing room before the performance of the astonishing No Man’s Land, starring the two knights of the British Realm, Sirs Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart who as well as Damien and Owen Teale. Damien and I sat down and discussed his journey on the play, as the only cast member who hadn’t worked with any of the others before, and what it was like touring in different houses before hitting the west end stage.

David Spicer is a writer and, more recently, playwright. With a world premiere production of his latest play "Raising Martha" opening at The Park Theatre in Finsbury Park London, I wanted to chat to David to get his take on the whole process.  I have known about this play for a long time, and have seen it workshopped, optioned, workshopped again...So it's great to see it finally get a home, and with a spectacular cast.

Listen, as David takes us from radio hit Week Ending to Game Shows to West End - an incredible journey!

This week's guest is a name you don’t often hear associated with the mega musical Miss Saigon, but he played a huge part in its success. Richard Matlby Jr, is a Broadway stalwart, winning a Tony Award way back in 1978 for Ain’t Misbehavin’. He went on to gather 10 Tony nominations, 4 Drama Desk nominations and he even bagged himself an Olivier award in 2001 for Directing Fosse.

The track you hear on this episode is "Be My Girl" sung by Jim Dale.

For the last few weeks, rumours of a Downton Abbey movie inching toward becoming a reality have been hitting the entertainment bulletins and pages around the world, so I thought I would take you backstage to meet a couple of the characters you loved on screen, Lady Edith and Lady Sybil. We are so used to seeing Laura Carmichael and Jessica Brown Findlay on screen in period dress, that seeing them on stage in modern dress packs an even more powerful punch.

This week, we return to The Donmar Warehouse and 2015's production of "Temple". "Temple" was directed by Howard Davies, who passed away on October 25th, 2016.  He leaves behind an incredible body of work and will be much missed by the theatre world.  He was beloved by the companies he put together in five decades of work.

The cast of "Temple" acclaim their love of the Donmar, and it is apparent that Davies triumphed again in putting together a company that adored each other. On stage and backstage.

This week, we have a slightly longer podcast than usual, but I found it incredibly hard to edit down the chat I had with the dynamic duo of Emily Bruni and Shaun Dooley, currently appearing in Lunch & The Bow of Ulysses, two one act plays by Stephen Berkoff showing at London’s Trafalgar Studios until the 5th of November.

This week’s podcasts brings you face to face with two of the people that brought you one of last year’s most beautifully designed and performed shows. McQueen started out in London at the St James Theatre in Victoria, and following a successful run transferred to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the West End.

Traditionally at Shakespeare's Globe in London, one would come to expect a nice little jig to send you skipping out of they foyer onto the South Bank. We take you backstage to visit Shakespeare's Globe's production of "Imogen" and reveal the joy behind their modern version which turns the idea of a jig on its head.

October 10, 2016 was Stage Managers Day, and this week we're taking you backstage to meet the guys that keep the shows going. Whether it's calling the show or making sure an actor goes on stage with the right wardrobe and props... if it wasn't for the stage management the show definitely would not go!

This week, we visit London's King's Cross Theatre to talk to two-time Olivier Award winner David Bedella - if God has a voice, surely it must sound like David's!  David's journey from Broadway to the West End is a fascinating tale of hard work and perseverance, combined with a splash of serendipity.  It doesn't hurt that he is genuinely one of the nicest guys in the business.  David discusses his current role, playing "Kevin" in 'In the Heights' as well as 'Jerry Springer the Opera', and turning down the chance to play The Engineer in 'Miss Saigon'.
